Baxter sees strong business performance in 2013
Baxter has announced its financial results for 2013, during which it was able to deliver strong growth in line with its previous expectations.
The company's worldwide sales for the year came to $15.3 billion, up by eight percent year on year, while its fourth-quarter total of $4.4 billion was up by a significant 16 percent.
Its recent growth has been attributed to the strong demand for its haemophilia therapies and medical products, as well as the positive impact of the recent acquisition of Gambro.
Baxter plans to continue to advance its new product pipeline and collaborations in 2014, with sales growth for the full year expected to fall within the nine to ten percent range.
Robert Parkinson Jr, chairman and chief executive officer of Baxter, said: "We remain focused on the company's strategic priorities of advancing the new product pipeline, investing in future growth opportunities and strengthening our operational execution."
This comes after the company launched its new Vivia haemodialysis system in Europe last month, after receiving CE Mark approval for the device.
