Bayer and Thermo Fisher Scientific Partner to Progress Diagnostic Assays

Thermo Fisher Scientific, a multinational company that provides scientific instrumentation, reagents, manufacturing, discovery, and diagnostics, has partnered with Bayer to develop diagnostic assays.  

The device will be employed to identify suitable candidates for Bayers precision cancer therapies, utilising Thermo Fishers NGS platform.  

This in vitro diagnostic, approved with a CE mark, can deliver outcomes for tumor or fluid biopsies within a day.  

The firms have added that their aim for the collaboration is to provide decentralised genetic analysis and swift result processing.  

Companion diagnostics are tests conducted alongside specific medical treatments to help healthcare providers make personalised treatment decisions for patients. Companion diagnostics play a crucial role in tailoring treatments to individual patients, optimising therapeutic outcomes, and minimising potential risks.
