Bayer encourages youngsters to talk about diabetes
Bayer is encouraging youngsters with diabetes to enter a competition to discuss how everyday accomplishments of dealing with the illness can lead to greater victories.
Sufferers aged between six and 18 are invited to record a 15 to 30-second video to share their own experiences in a creative way, which could be through an original song, acting, photography or painting.
The winner will meet pop singer Nick Jonas, who has type one diabetes. He explained that the illness can be difficult to live with, adding that patients can still do the things they love the most if they manage the condition properly.
“With this contest, I hope people are inspired by others’ entries, as well as encouraged to submit and share their own, he commented.
“Most of all, I hope that everyone has fun with it.”
Last month, the Genzyme agreed to buy the main rights to Campath, which has been developed between it and Bayer.
The drug is designed to cure leukemia and has also been examined for the benefits it could have for those with multiple sclerosis.
