Bayer Healthcare partners technology firm

Bayer Healthcare has partnered with Troux Technologies, to use the latter’s software.

In an attempt to “reduce complexity within its overall IT landscape”, it is also hoped Bayer will be able to adapt its computer systems using the Troux Transformation Platform.

Before the selection of the technology firm, Bayer Healthcare conducted a vendor evaluation, in particular the support offered by the company when the partnership is fully established.

David Hood, chief executive officer of Troux Technologies, said: “Companies around the globe are dealing with massive amounts of consolidation and restructuring.

“The smooth integration of IT functions is mission critical to the success of these organisations.”

Last week, Bayer Healthcare and Protagen have said they have signed a cooperation contract, with regard to the evaluation of UNIarray technology.

Used for discovery of novel biomarkers in atrial fibrillation, it is hoped the tools can be used to investigate cardiac arrhythmia after heart surgery.

It is currently not possible to predict which patients are at risk of developing the condition – however it is hoped the UNIarray technology will enable this.

Bayer currently has 106,000 employees worldwide and a yearly turnover of more than 32 billion euros (28 billion pounds).
