Bayer HealthCare to present new oncology data at ECCO-ESMO Congress

15th September 2011

Bayer HealthCare will be publishing new clinical data on a number of its developmental oncology treatments at an upcoming medical congress.

The company will attend the 2011 European Multidisciplinary Cancer Congress (ECCO-ESMO) in Sweden later this month to share information on important new drugs such as Alpharadin and regorafenib.

It will include results from the pivotal phase III Alsympca study of Alpharadin, which has evaluated the drug as a castration-resistant prostate cancer therapy, as well as data from a phase II study of the same treatment.

Findings on the performance of regorafenib in a number of phase II renal cell carcinoma studies will also be shared.

Dr Kemal Malik, head of global development and member of the Bayer HealthCare executive committee, said the data will "serve to demonstrate Bayer's commitment to advancing the science of cancer and to developing innovative cancer therapies that can help people with cancer live longer".

Last month, the company announced a new deal to purchase Pathway Medical Technologies, a developer of atherectomy innovations for use in the vascular intervention field.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800729776-ADNFCR
