Bayer HealthCare to present Xarelto data at ASH 2013

4th December 2013

Bayer HealthCare has announced that it will be presenting new scientific data on Xarelto at the American Society of Hematology (ASH) annual meeting.

The company will attend the event in New Orleans from December 7th to 10th 2013 in order to share its latest findings on the benefits of the novel oral anticoagulant, which it developed in partnership with Janssen.

Analyses of the pivotal Einstein phase III trial will shed light on the performance of the drug in the treatment and prevention of recurrent pulmonary embolism (PE) and deep vein thrombosis (DVT).

Specifically, the presentations will address the therapy's effects among various patient subgroups, including people with different levels of PE severity and DVT/PE patients on concomitant statin therapy.

These findings will offer insights that may be helpful in similar real-world clinical settings.

Dr Larry Fields, senior director for clinical development at Janssen's medical affairs, said: "As the most widely studied and prescribed novel oral anticoagulant, Xarelto is an important medication for reducing the risk of or treating blood clots."ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801668470-ADNFCR
