Bayer starts planning 2012 Polymer Study Tour

Bayer has announced that the planning process for its 2012 Polymer Study Tour is now underway.

The annual event visits three UK locations and is designed to help science and technology teachers gain an insight into the chemistry, engineering and design associated with plastics.

According to Bayer, this year's tour was fully booked with 20 teachers taking part in each city.

The four-day course is set to visit London, Manchester and Edinburgh once again next year, with a similarly high level of interest expected by the organisers.

It will be supported by Bayer MaterialScience and run by the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IOM3) over the summer.

"Teachers attending the Polymer Study Tour gain a really valuable insight into the work of polymers and polymer processing," said Andrea Postles of Bayer MaterialScience.

She added that the course "helps promote an enhanced knowledge and understanding of plastics".

Bayer is due to host a university roadshow at the headquarters of the IOM3 in London on Thursday November 10th.
