Bayer to delist from Tokyo Stock Exchange
Bayer has announced its decision to apply to delist from the Tokyo Stock Exchange, people looking for science sales jobs may be interested to know.
Klaus Kuhn, chief financial officer of Bayer, said the low turnover of the company’s stock on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was responsible for the decision, as the listing was unnecessary.
He said: "Thanks to globalisation, today’s investors are no longer dependent on shares being traded on several continents.
"Instead, they generally prefer the stock exchanges with the highest trading volume in the shares."
The company’s stock has been listed on the stock market in Japan for two decades.
Earlier this week, Bayer said articles on medical or health care that are "scrupulously researched" have a chance of winning the 2008 European Journalists’ Prize.
Bayer is sponsoring the medical reporting competition, which is organised by the Association of German Medical Journalists. Entries will be accepted until the end of January.
