BCF Technology-backed charity campaign helps vet visit Caribbean
BCF Technology's support for the Vet Charity Challenge has helped an animal health professional to take a trip to Carriacou, a Caribbean island near Grenada.
Veterinary surgeon Emily Capes – from Park Vets in Sidcup, Kent – recently returned after spending a fortnight working at an animal hospital in the region, which was made possible through a bursary from the Vet Charity Challenge.
Ms Capes, who has taken part in a number of events with the Vet Charity Challenge, was able to carry out several neuters, lump removals and emergency surgeries during her trip, while treating diseases she had not previously encountered.
Jason Rogers from BCF Technology said: "It is great to see how Emily has used the bursary to make a real difference to the lives of cats and dogs on the island."
The Vet Charity Challenge is a one-day event held each September, with up to 50 teams of four vets taking part in mental and physical tasks. Over the past four years, the event has raised more than 115,000 pounds for a number of animal-based charities.
It is sponsored by BCF Technology, Dechra Veterinary Products and Kruuse, with the VMPA, Mojo Consultancy and Veterinary Practice magazine also supporting the event.
