BCF Technology releases new guide to farm ultrasound

BCF Technology has released a new clinical guide to the applications of on-farm ultrasound systems, created by in-house vet Kimberly Palgrave.

Entitled On-Farm Ultrasound Uses: Beyond Pregnancy Diagnosis, the booklet is available to download online and has been created to help veterinarians understand the value of using ultrasound for more than reproduction purposes.

It discusses non-reproductive applications of the Easi-Scan scan for various farm animals, offering key clinical descriptions and tips, along with normal and abnormal ultrasound images to show how the technology can aid in diagnosing several common conditions.

Among the topics included are how to scan for stenosis, abscesses and bovine respiratory disease.

Ms Palgrave said: "There are a range of other uses for ultrasound on farm and this guide explains how to use your equipment for these applications. As always we are happy to receive feedback on any of our clinical materials."

The company is currently offering a promotional deal for customers purchasing its Easi-Scan bovine ultrasound scanner, which expires at the end of this month.
