BD adopts Windows 10 IoT operating system for Pyxis ES System

BD has introduced a new operating system from Microsoft for its Pyxis ES medication management system.

The Windows 10 Internet of Things operating system offers long-term support and enhanced cybersecurity for the Pyxis ES health systems' automated dispensing and medication management solutions.

A ten-year support package is also being offered that includes active security patches and options to upgrade when new features are introduced by Microsoft every two to three years.

This will help BD achieve its goal of moving away from a hardware-based product upgrade cycle towards a more dynamic model of software-based innovations and technology enhancements, allowing for continuous improvements in usability and performance.

BD is also participating in early testing of pre-release versions of Windows Server 2016 and SQL Server 2016, allowing the company in order to ensure its Pyxis technologies are consistently updated with the latest Microsoft innovations.
