BD launches education course for laboratory professionals
BD has launched a new course designed for the expansion of knowledge among laboratory personnel, it has revealed.
The programme, which is entitled Clinical Innovations, comprises of various modules, including those covering issues such as the detection of chlamydia, gaining efficiency in the molecular diagnostics laboratory via LEAN management and the clinical value of DNA-based vaginitis testing.
They will be updated on a quarterly basis and will be made available on a DVD laboratory figures are invited to view before they take an online test.
Successful completion of the exam will see them receive an accredited continuing education unit certificate.
Wayne Brinster, vice-president and general manager of women’s health and cancer at BD Diagnostics, said: “Clinical laboratory professionals are increasingly challenged to keep up with trends and issues in the laboratory, as well as new technologies and processes, while balancing growing workloads.”
BD posted its financial results for the third quarter of 2009 last week, which showed that the firm achieved revenues of $1.898 billion (1.147 billion pounds) during the timeframe.
