BD launches Falcon Multi-Flask for cell culture

BD has announced the launch of its Falcon Multi-Flask cell culture device for the life science research sector.

The new product is available in three and five-layer designs and allows users to increase cell growth levels compared to single-layer flasks, while offering the same footprint, reagent volumes and cell seeding densities per unit area.

According to the manufacturer, the new flask offers the same proven tissue culture surface treatment as other products in the Falcon range, as well as a mixing port that allows cells and media to be mixed inside the flask.

Ken Linehan, product manager for discovery labware at BD Biosciences, said the BD Falcon Multi-Flask allows cells to be grown faster and more efficiently without compromising on the quality of results.

"The BD Falcon Multi-Flask's pipette access and in-vessel mixing provide the convenience of a standard flask with the increased capacity of a multi-layer flask," he added.

This comes after BD launched its new safety-focused Insyte Autoguard catheter last month.
