BD reports strong results for Q3 2016

9th August 2016

BD has announced its financial results for the third quarter of its 2016 business year, during which it reported a revenue total of $3.2 billion (2.46 billion pounds).

This represents a year-on-year increase of 2.5 percent, or a four percent increase on a comparable currency-neutral basis. Its medical and life science divisions both contributed positively to this momentum.

As reported and adjusted, the company now expects revenues to increase by between 21 and 21.5 percent for the full year, which is slightly down from its previous forecast range of 21.5 to 22 percent, due to incremental currency headwinds.

This double-digit increase for the full year is anticipated as a consequence of the company's takeover of CareFusion, with organic adjusted revenues expected to increase by between 4.5 and five percent.

Vincent Forlenza, chairman, chief executive officer and president of BD, said: "The combination of solid revenue growth and continued margin improvement is allowing us to increase our investment in innovation while delivering double-digit increases in earnings."

The firm announced last week that it has appointed Andrew Eckert, the boss of Valence Health, as the newest member of its board of directors, effective as of September 26th.
