BD unveils Vystra disposable self-injection pen
BD has announced that it will be launching a new disposable self-injection pen that has been optimised for ease and flexibility of use.
The Vystra pen has been designed for use with a wide range of therapies that require frequent, low-volume injections or variable dosing, offering comfort and reliability through rigorous ergonomic and quality assessments.
It is capable of delivering multi-dosing functions, simple dose dialling and correction with audible clicks, as well as a wide variety of customisation options.
The device is being showcased by the manufacturer at the 2012 Parenteral Drug Association meeting in Las Vegas in order to demonstrate the advantages it can provide for patients and clinicians alike.
Krista Thompson, vice-president and global leader for BD Medical's pharmaceutical systems and self-administration injection systems platform division, said: "As more patient care shifts to the outpatient setting, self-injection devices must be able to accommodate the requirements of an ever-broader range of drugs and patient profiles."
This comes after the company last month introduced its new Ultra-Fine Nano Pen Needle with PentaPoint Comfort for the self-administration of insulin therapies among diabetes patients.
