BDIA hails success of first ever Tech Show

9th June 2014

The British Dental Industry Association (BDIA) has voiced its satisfaction with the success of its inaugural Tech Show, which was held in Coventry last month.

Organised in partnership with the Dental Technologists Association, the event ran from May 16th to 17th at the Ricoh Arena and saw hundreds of technicians, laboratory owners and clinical dental technicians offer positive feedback on the occasion.

More than 65 demonstrations and talks were hosted at the show, as well as hands-on masterclasses, a trade exhibition and lectures from world-class speakers. Attendees were able to preview some of the latest innovations in milling, digital printing and imaging technology.

Keynote lectures themed around advances in prosthetics were delivered by Dr John Besford and Ruth Bourke on the first day, while Dr Christian Coachman kicked off the second day with a discussion of advances in restorative dentistry.

Tony Reed, executive director at the BDIA, said: "Our Tech Show experience demonstrated that technicians are interested in close-up, practical demonstrations with interactive activities and hands-on involvement."

The BDIA represents more than 80 percent of the UK dental industry. It was known as the British Dental Trade Association until December 2013, when it changed its name to reflect the increasing diversity of its membership.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801726894-ADNFCR
