Beckman Coulter to expand Kentucky operation
Beckman Coulter is going to undergo a $10 million expansion of its Hebron warehouse, where it distributes the likes of the UniCel DxH 800 Coulter Cellular Analysis System.
The developer, manufacturer and servicer of biomedical testing equipment will receive up to $400,000 in state tax incentives over the next decade if it meets job and investment targets, with the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority giving preliminary approval for the incentives earlier this month.
"Hebron is important because some parts or consumables for all of our product lines are shipped through that facility en route to customers around the globe," a Beckman Coulter spokeswoman said.
The company ships scientific instruments and consumable reagents used in lab analysis and is part of the Washington, DC-based Danaher Corp.
Its Kentucky operation currently has 131 full-time employees and the organisation has committed to maintaining employment at that level for the next ten years.
