Beiersdorf posts strong results in first nine months of 2012

9th November 2012

Beiersdorf has published its financial report for the first nine months of 2012, during which it experienced continued year-on-year growth.

The consumer products group's sales came to 4.57 billion euros (3.64 billion pounds), up by 3.7 per cent in organic growth terms, thanks primarily to the development of its emerging market operations.

All of Beiersdorf's core brands contributed to its improved performance, including Nivea, Eucerin and La Prairie, while construction of a new production facility in Mexico has commenced ahead of a planned 2014 opening.

The company now expects to achieve a year-over-year sales increase of between three and four percent for the full year.

Stefan Heidenreich, chairman of the executive board of Beiersdorf, said the company is succeeding in delivering on its four key objectives: "Delivering top-line growth, strengthening our brands, innovation power and extending our presence in emerging markets."

Last month, the company launched a new creative agency collaboration model that will see its media partners pitching competitively against each other – a system designed to encourage innovation.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801485467-ADNFCR
