Beiersdorf’s Nivea product found more effective than other products, says study
Beiersdorf’s Nivea Visage DNAge has been found to be more effective than anti-ageing products six times its price, according to a French consumer test.
The trial by 60 Millions de Consommateurs magazine found the item – which was also the cheapest – to be the second most effective product out of the 12 examined.
All items were tested under laboratory conditions, with each used by 22 female volunteers – aged between 30 and 70 years old – over a period of 28 days.
The items were then awarded points and classified as very good, good, acceptable, poor and very poor.
Named Our Opinion, the survey said the Nivea Visage DNAge “raises the issue of the sometimes prohibitive prices charged by some cosmetics manufacturers”.
The trial went on to say protection is important in caring for your skin and delaying the onset of wrinkles.
It added hydration levels, sun exposure, smoking and lifestyle all play a role in skin ageing as well as genetics and hormonal factors.
Employing over 22,000 people, Beiersdorf generated sales in excess of 5.5 billion euros (4.6 billion pounds) in 2007.
The company aims to increase its global market share to 5.5 per cent by 2010.
