Binding Site launches new semi-automated nephelometer
Binding Site has announced the launch of a new semi-automated nephelometer, which provides intuitive and accurate functionality in a small unit.
The MININEPHplus is designed to work in conjunction with Freelite serum-free light chain assays, which are used in the diagnosis, prognosis and monitoring of patients with monoclonal gammopathies.
It is a lightweight portable unit which incorporates automatic assay blanking and reagent mixing for consistency of results, as well as a precise single button pipette system.
In addition, the MININEPHplus is also designed to be easy to use, providing clear on-screen guidance and magnetic swipe card functionality to access pre-programmed calibration curves.
The company said: “The exclusive combination of Freelite and MININEPHplus will enable laboratories with small Freelite workloads to provide results for this essential assay quickly and easily.”
Earlier this year, Binding Site highlighted findings from an Australian study which showed that its Freelite assays can help to reduce the need for work-intensive immunofixation electrophoresis when evaluating monoclonal gammopathies.
