Biogen states its new vice-president is uniquely qualified
Biogen has stated its newly appointed vice-president is “uniquely qualified” to build on its proven record of disciplined and productive company development.
With over 25 years of business, investment and legal experience in the biotechnical industry, Michael E Lytton has been selected for the role.
He has served as a general partner at Oxford Bioscience Partners from 2001 until 2009.
Mr Lytton was responsible for co-leading a number of investments in an assortment of therapeutic areas ? including inflammatory diseases and central nervous system disorders.
Before that, he worked at a Boston-based law firm, Palmer & Dodge LLP, where he was a partner, chairman of the technology group and a member of the executive committee.
While working for the firm, he negotiated many M&A transactions, corporate partnerships and licensing deals.
Hans Peter Hasler, Biogen’s chief operating officer, explained the latest addition to the firm was capable of the job due to his “experience in identifying and translating promising science into successful companies”.
Biogen was founded in 1978.
