Biogen to present new drug data at AAN 2015
Biogen has announced that it will be attending next week's American Academy of Neurology (AAN) annual meeting, where it will be presenting new data on its neurological disease therapies.
The company has confirmed 73 company-sponsored platform and poster presentations for the event in Washington, which runs from April 18th to 25th, including new data highlighting the efficacy and favourable safety profile of its established multiple sclerosis (MS) therapy Tecfidera.
Data on the approved drugs Tysabri and Plegridy will also be featured, alongside findings from the clinical programmes of its pipeline candidates anti-LINGO-1, aducanumab and Zinbryta, the latter being developed in partnership with AbbVie.
Additionally, the firm will present data from initiatives aimed at improving patient care beyond therapy, including highlights from an international survey of patients and neurologists about the current state of MS, and the importance of physician/patient collaboration.
Kate Dawson, vice-president for US medical affairs at Biogen, said: "Biogen is committed to exploring ways to transform the care of patients living with MS and other neurodegenerative diseases both through its broad portfolio of MS therapies and extensive pipeline, as well as innovative company initiatives."
Formerly known as Biogen Idec, Biogen adopted its new company branding last month, as it seeks to enter a fresh phase of global growth.
