BioMarin sees solid sales growth in second quarter of 2015
BioMarin has announced its financial results for the second quarter of 2015, during which it saw solid year-on-year growth thanks to rising product demand.
The company's revenue total came to $250.5 million (159.68 million pounds), up by 31 percent year on year, driven by solid growth across all BioMarin products, including Kuvan, Naglazyme and Vimizim.
Vimizim is now in its fifth full quarter of sales since being approved in early 2014 and is now available in 30 countries, while Naglazyme benefitted from a large order in Latin America, and Kuvan was bolstered by patient count increases and high rates of compliance.
Other key highlights included the progress made towards earning regulatory approval for drisapersen and the completion of a trial assessing vosoritide for the treatment of achondroplasia.
Jean-Jacques Bienaime, chairman and chief executive officer of BioMarin, said: "The second quarter of 2015 was one of our most productive quarters to date as measured by commercial results and the advancement of all ten potential products in our clinical development portfolio."
For the full year, the company continues to expect revenues in the range of $850 to $880 million.
