BioMerieux reports better-than-expected Q1 2015 results
BioMerieux has announced its financial results for the first quarter of 2015, during which it generated a sales total of 448 million euros (320.9 million pounds).
This represented a year-on-year increase of 8.7 percent in terms of constant exchange rates and scope of consolidation, or 20.8 percent on a reported basis. Its performance in the Americas was particularly strong, with a growth rate of 19.6 percent achieved.
The firm was able to shore up its positions in key strategic areas, almost doubling the sales of its FilmArray offering and also bolstering its clinical microbiology, Vidas immunoassay and industrial applications businesses.
It means the company was able to exceed its financial targets for the period. Additionally, its FilmArray Ebola test earned Frost and Sullivan's 2014 global new product innovation award, further improving the reputation of the BioFire business.
Alexandre Merieux, chief executive officer of BioMerieux, said: "We are confirming our objective of organic growth in sales in 2015, while actively pursuing the operating projects designed to drive sustainable and profitable growth in our business."
