Bioquell backs hike to beat superbugs

Bioquell is backing a hospital consultant who is putting his foot forward and climbing a mountain for cleaner hospitals.

The firm is supporting Dr Matthew Dryden, a consultant from Winchester hospital, in his sponsored quest to climb Mount Kinabalu in Borneo to raise money to buy a Bioquell hydrogen peroxide vapour (HPV) generator.

Research carried out last year showed that by using the HPV generator, scientists were able to eradicate MRSA from a clinical environment.

A company statement said: "Bioquell will match any donations raised by Dr Dryden towards the purchase of their technology."

The firm will exhibit its HPV generator at this year’s Technopharm exhibition in Nuremberg from September 30th to October 2nd.

Bioquell claims to be fast becoming the biodecontamination agent of choice within the healthcare, pharmaceutical, lifescience and biosafety industries.

It aims to offer a safer and more effective alternative to formaldehyde and other decontamination methods.
