BMI Healthcare acquires three new hospitals
BMI Healthcare is to expand its UK hospital network with the addition of three new facilities acquired from Abbey Hospitals.
General Healthcare Group, owner of BMI Healthcare, is taking control of the hospitals in Liverpool, Gisburn and Stirling, with existing staff and consultants set to continue in their current roles.
The three hospitals have a number of contracts with various NHS trusts and primary care trusts and offer diverse specialities such as gynaecology, urology, physiotherapy and bariatric surgery.
It is hoped all three sites will now be able to benefit from BMI Healthcare's investments in improving facilities, available technology and patient care standards.
General Healthcare Group chief executive officer Adrian Fawcett said: "We are confident that we can continue to provide consistent high-quality care to people in these areas, whilst growing and strengthening our leading position in the independent healthcare market."
Last month, BMI Healthcare commenced a 7.8 million pound programme of improvements to its BMI The Park Hospital facility in Nottingham, which will be completed next autumn.
