BMI Healthcare shortlisted for best private hospital group award

BMI Healthcare has been nominated as a contender for the private hospital group of the year prize at the 2014 HealthInvestor Awards.

The company, which is the largest private acute healthcare provider in the UK, has made the shortlist for the prestigious accolade thanks to the innovative initiatives it undertook in 2013. The winner will be announced at a ceremony in June.

Various investments made by BMI Healthcare last year demonstrated its commitment to hospital improvement, high standards of patient care and increasing the acuity of procedures. Meanwhile, its clinical teams have worked hard across the entire network of 66 hospitals and treatment centres to safeguard patient safety and care quality at all times.

Stephen Collier, BMI Healthcare chief executive, said: "The board is extremely proud of what BMI Healthcare accomplished in 2013 and that we have been recognised for the hard work and commitment all of the staff deliver on a daily basis."

The organisation can boast a 99 percent patient satisfaction rating of good, very good or excellent, with 90 percent of adults in the UK who have private medical insurance living less than an hour from a BMI hospital.
