Boehringer Ingelheim launches new webinars on laminitis and PPID
Boehringer Ingelheim has announced the launch of a new series of short webinars addressing issues pertaining to laminitis laboratory tests and the management of pituitary pars intermedia dysfunction (PPID) in horses.
The company has allied with Andy Durham from Liphook Equine Hospital to launch this new web series, which will deal with recent updates to standard practices and answer frequently-asked questions on these topics.
The first series addresses changes to ACTH normal reference ranges and the impact these can have on diagnoses, as well as the role of the Adiponectin test and when it is appropriate to use it.
Meanwhile, the second series deals with the management of PPID patients treated with Prascend, management recommendations for horses with PPID and potential seasonal adjustments in Prascend dosages.
Each webinar lasts between three and five minutes and are part of the 2016 Talk About Laminitis disease awareness initiative, which aims to help those looking after horses to detect, manage and monitor PPID – also known as Cushing's disease – more easily.
