Boehringer Ingelheim provides donation to Redwings Horse Sanctuary
Boehringer Ingelheim has provided a cash donation to Redwings Horse Sanctuary, the largest organisation of its kind in the UK.
The company has provided 600 pounds to the horse sanctuary after pledging to do so following its support for recent research carried out by the University of Nottingham. This project collated important data from more than 1,000 colic cases seen by first opinion veterinary surgeons who entered their data online.
Boehringer Ingelheim agreed to donate money to the charity for every additional online questionnaire on diagnostic approach that was completed. Additionally, it provided an iPad to a veterinary surgeon in Scotland following a prize draw among professionals participating in the University of Nottingham colic survey.
Clare Turnbull, brand and technical manager for Buscopan 20 at Boehringer Ingelheim, said: "‘We are currently revealing the results of our questionnaire on diagnostic approaches to our customers and the colic survey group are hoping to present their wider research at the International Colic Symposium in July this year."
The company is the manufacturer of Buscopan 20, a therapy indicated for antispasmodic treatment in case of equine colic.
