Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica highlights horse joints importance
Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica (BIVI) has partnered with the Joint Health Management (JHM) programme to educate horse owners and veterinarians about joint problems.
Not only will the information series contain details about how to prevent such equine issues, but it was also include advice about how to treat conditions.
Dr David Frisbie from the Equine Orthopedic Research Center has spent 15 years in clinical practice of diagnosing and aiding joint disease.
As part of the collaboration between BIVI and JHM, Dr Frisbie will present a number of seminars on the topic. The next one is on May 27th in Lexington.
BIVI explained why work into managing the problem in equine is important.
“Osteoarthritis is a leading cause of joint dysfunction in horses. Acute injury and overuse can lead to chronic joint pain,” it said.
BVI has been a subsidiary of Boehringer Ingelheim Corporation since 1981 and focuses on biological research, development and manufacturing products for the worldwide animal health market.
