Boots launches children’s storybook to help check eye health
Boots has announced the launch of a new storybook called Zookeeper Zoe that will help to make children and families aware of eye health issues.
Designed for children between the ages of four and six, the book's illustrations guide parents through a series of basic checks to help identify any problems their children might have with sharpness of vision, or their ability to focus properly and detect different colours.
It will serve to remind families that all children require regular eye health checks, as research shows 53 per cent of children have never been for one.
A total of 350,000 printed copies will be given away via Boots UK and Boots Opticians stores, while it will also be made available as an interactive app and or to be read and downloaded online from a dedicated site.
Karl Thomas, customer director for Boots Opticians, said: "We want every child in the UK to be as happy and healthy as possible. Good eyesight is essential to their development, so we want to ensure their vision is the best it can be."
More than 2,500 Boots UK and around 637 Boots Opticians stores will be distributing the physical copies of the book.
