Boston Scientific and Accenture create new digital health solution
Boston Scientific has partnered with Accenture to create a new cloud-based, data-driven digital health solution for hospitals.
Known as the Advantics Care Pathway Transformation, the solution is designed to help improve patient outcomes and reduce costs associated with care for people with chronic cardiovascular diseases.
Using Accenture's analytics insights platform, it offers insights into how patients move through the hospital system, as well as how they are diagnosed, treated and monitored. It also looks at how they are educated and monitored during and after treatment.
The companies worked with the Karolinska University Hospital in Sweden and Tampere Heart Hospital in Finland, two of the largest hospitals in Scandinavia, to develop the service.
At present, the new solution is tailored for insight into patients with heart failure, but the partners plan to expand it to additional disease states in future.
Mike Mahoney, president and chief executive officer at Boston Scientific, said: "The Care Pathway Transformation solution is designed to support healthcare professionals and patients to have more informed relationships, leading to better health outcomes and lower costs for health systems."
