Boston Scientific elects new director
Boston Scientific has announced the appointment of David Roux as the newest member of its board of directors, effective as of January 1st 2014.
Mr Roux is a co-founder and senior director of Silver Lake, a private equity firm that invests in technology industry businesses, while he is also the former chairman and chief executive officer of Liberate Technologies.
He also currently serves on the boards of directors at the National Audubon Society and the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington, and on the boards of trustees of the Jackson Laboratory and Bowdoin College.
His election to the board will fill a vacancy resulting from the board's recent decision to increase the number of directors comprising the board from ten to 11.
Pete Nicholas, chairman of the board at Boston Scientific, said: "I am excited to welcome David to our board. I am confident that his wealth of experience and impressive background will benefit the company and our shareholders."
The company also recently announced the selection of Daniel Brennan as executive vice-president and chief financial officer, an appointment that comes into effect on January 1st 2014.
