Boston Scientific launches Interlock – 35 Fibered IDC Occlusion System
Boston Scientific has launched its new Interlock – 35 Fibered IDC Occlusion System in the EU and US after receiving regulatory clearance.
The new device is designed for use in peripheral embolisation procedures and consists of a 0.035-inch detachable coil that incorporates a unique interlocking connection, enhancing placement control and reliable detachment.
Available in 31 different configurations, it offers a variety of coil lengths, diameters and distinct shapes, as well as being compatible with the company's 0.018-inch Interlock Fibered IDC Coils and 5F catheters.
It has been ratified by regulators on both sides of the Atlantic for obstructing or reducing blood flow in the peripheral vasculature during embolisation procedures.
Joe Fitzgerald, senior vice-president and president of Boston Scientific's endovascular business, said: "The Interlock – 35 Coils offer a significant expansion of our best-in-class peripheral vascular coiling technology."
This comes after the company launched the new Mustang balloon catheter for percutaneous transluminal angioplasty last month.
