Boston Scientific names newest board member

Boston Scientific has announced the appointment of respected business leader Donna James as the newest member of its board of directors.

The founder and managing director of business development and executive advisory services firm Lardon and Associates, Ms James can boast more than 30 years of diverse management and leadership experience.

She is the former president of Nationwide Strategic Investments, where she had direct responsibility for developing and executing global financial services strategies, while she is also founder and chair of the US Center for Healthy Families.

Ms James currently serves as a director of Time Warner Cable, L Brands, Marathon Petroleum and FIS Group.

Pete Nicholas, chairman of the board at Boston Scientific, said: "Donna is an accomplished business leader who brings significant financial knowledge, human resources management and organisational planning skills to our board."

The firm is one of the world's biggest medical technology companies, with around 21 million people treated with a Boston Scientific product in 2014.
