Boston Scientific’s Precision Spectra system shows pain relief benefits
Boston Scientific has presented new data demonstrating that the pain relief performance of its Precision Spectra spinal cord stimulator (SCS) system.
The device provided 1.5 times better overall pain relief and two times better low back pain relief than the previous generation Precision Plus SCS system in the LUMINA cohort study.
These improved outcomes were achieved in conjunction with the use of the proprietary Illumina 3D neural targeting software, which is designed to target pain with point-and-click simplicity.
According to the manufacturer, this shows the efficacy of the system in addressing the types of challenging chronic pain patients seen in common everyday practice.
Maulik Nanavaty, president of neuromodulation at Boston Scientific, said: "This real-world clinical data demonstrates that the Precision Spectra System with our proprietary neural targeting software is a significant scientific advancement in pain management."
This comes after the company launched another SCS innovation, Precision Novi, in Europe earlier this month.
