Bristol-Myers Squibb named top corporate citizen of 2014
Bristol-Myers Squibb has announced that it has once again topped Corporate Responsibility magazine's list of the world's 100 leading corporate citizens.
The company secured the number one spot in the 2014 list, which is a prestigious benchmark for socially responsible investors and other stakeholders. It is the only organisation to ever achieve this feat three times, having previously come first in 2009 and 2012.
Its performance on key metrics such as environment, climate change, employee relations, human rights, governance, finance and philanthropy helped it to score highly, meaning it has now ranked among the top ten in each of the last six years.
Investors, customers, suppliers, regulators, employees and other stakeholders will be able to use the list to assess how effectively public companies are holding themselves accountable over these key issues.
Lamberto Andreotti, chief executive officer of Bristol-Myers Squibb, said: "Our efforts to promote economic, social and environmental sustainability are core to our company's mission and reflect our ongoing commitment to patients, our employees and partners, the environment and communities around the world."
The firm is currently preparing to release its financial results for the first quarter of 2014, with a conference call set to take place on April 29th.
