Bristol-Myers Squibb to present compound data

5th October 2009

Bristol-Myers Squibb is set to present data on four of its products at the forthcoming 60th annual meeting of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases from October 30th to November 3rd.

The compounds are Baraclude (entecavir), a chronic hepatitis B treatment, NS3 inhibitor BMS-650032 and novel type-3 interferon PEG-Interferon lambda.

Finally, brivanab, which is an investigational compound, will also be examined and is the first selective dual inhibitor of fibroblast growth factor and vascular endothelial growth factor signalling and is currently in phase III development for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma.

Elliott Sigal, executive vice-president, chief scientific officer and president of research and development at Bristol-Myers Squibb, said: “Our established expertise in viral hepatitis and oncology uniquely position Bristol-Myers Squibb to be at the forefront of delivering innovation in the treatment of multiple types and stages of liver disease.”

Last week, Bristol-Myers Squibb and ZymoGenetics announced that they will present the data from a trial into patients with hepatitis C who are being treated with PEG-Interferon lambda in combination with ribavirin.
