Bristol-Myers Squibb to present drug data at AASLD meeting

Bristol-Myers Squibb has announced that it will be presenting new clinical data on several of its liver disease therapies at a medical conference in November 2012.

The company will attend the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD) annual meeting in Boston to share data on compounds such as the hepatitis C therapies daclatasvir, asunaprevir, Lambda and BMS-791325.

Further information will highlight the performance of Lambda in a separate hepatitis B trial, while results from a study of the approved hepatitis B treatment Baraclude will also be showcased.

Dr Brian Daniels, senior vice-president for global development and medical affairs at Bristol-Myers Squibb's research and development division, said: "Bristol-Myers Squibb has a long-term commitment to viral hepatitis and has been at the forefront of the evolving science in both hepatitis B and C, where there remains considerable unmet medical need."

This comes after the firm recently attending the European Society for Medical Oncology congress, where it shared positive data from a phase III clinical trial of the melanoma therapy Yervoy.
