Bristol-Myers Squibb to present Orencia data at EULAR 2012
Bristol-Myers Squibb will be presenting new clinical data for its rheumatoid arthritis treatment Orencia at the 2012 annual congress of the European League Against Rheumatism (EULAR).
The company will attend the event in Berlin next month in order to showcase 18 abstracts on the important therapy option, which has been approved for use in the US since 2005.
Among the data will be findings from the Ample phase III trial, which compared subcutaneous Orencia to Humira in combination with methotrexate over a period of one year.
Further results will offer evidence of the product's efficacy and safety among various patient groups.
Dr Brian Daniels, senior vice-president for global development and medical affairs at Bristol-Myers Squibb, said: "The data being presented highlights Bristol-Myers Squibb's continued commitment to expanding our understanding of the efficacy and safety of Orencia, including important areas of study such as kinetics of response and radiographic non-progression."
Last month, the company reported its financial results for the first quarter of 2012, a period which saw Bristol-Myers Squibb experience a five percent year-on-year growth in net sales.
