Bristol-Myers Squibb to report Orencia data at ACR 2012

Bristol-Myers Squibb has announced plans to present new Orencia drug data at the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) annual scientific meeting over the coming days.

During the Washington DC conference, the company will highlight key one-year findings from Ample, a phase III trial assessing the performance of subcutaneous Orencia compared to Humira in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis.

In addition to patient outcomes data from this study, results from a separate trial assessing intravenous Orencia against juvenile idiopathic arthritis and in mild relapsing granulomatosis with polyangiitis will be presented.

Dr Brian Daniels, senior vice-president for global development and medical affairs at Bristol-Myers Squibb, said: "The breadth of data at ACR is an example of our commitment to patients and to our continued research in rheumatoid arthritis and other diseases."

Earlier this month, the company attended the scientific sessions of the American Heart Association alongside partner Pfizer, where they jointly presented new data on stroke prevention methods for atrial fibrillation patients.
