Bristol-Myers Squibb’s global development head to retire

Bristol-Myers Squibb has announced the imminent retirement of Brian Daniels, its senior vice-president for global development and medical affairs.

Mr Daniels has been with the company since 2000 and moved into his current position in 2008. He will leave the firm on July 1st 2014, having played a key leadership role in the success of its research and development activities in the last few years.

During his time with Bristol-Myers Squibb, he helped to spearhead the production of innovative medicines such as Eliquis and Yervoy, while also communicating the value of these medicines to society to ensure their safe and appropriate use.

Francis Cuss, executive vice-president and chief scientific officer at Bristol-Myers Squibb, said: "He has been a champion of the patients we serve and I want to sincerely thank him for his loyalty and dedication to Bristol-Myers Squibb."

Last month, the company topped Corporate Responsibility magazine's list of the world's 100 leading corporate citizens, having previously done so in 2009 and 2012.
