BSN Medical celebrates tenth anniversary

BSN Medical has marked its tenth anniversary with a special celebratory event at its base in Willerby this month.

More than 100 members of staff from around the country were present at the occasion, which included workshops highlighting the individual roles of the firm's three divisions and a ceremony honouring workers who haven been with BSN Medical since its foundation.

The company was created in 2001 as a joint venture between Beiersdorf and Smith and Nephew, before being bought out in 2006 by a consortium led by Montagu Private Equity for a record one billion euros (891.86 million pounds).

Based in Germany, the firm began with an annual sales capability of around 300 million pounds and a workforce of more than 3,000, which has since grown to in excess of 3,500.

General manager Paul Goodman noted that this is one of many celebrations taking place at the company's locations across the world.

"I am very proud of our achievements across all three divisions in what have [been] very tough trading conditions over the last ten years," he said.
