Buckland Group Bolsters Positions with Quvara Medical CMO Launch

Holly Haynes
In a strategic move, the Buckland Group has acquired the Swindon manufacturing site from Becton Dickinson (BD), establishing Quvara Medical as a new contract manufacturing organization (CMO). This expansion aims to enhance services for the medical device and pharmaceutical industries across UK and EU markets. Quvara Medical will continue supplying BD products, while also broadening its reach to new pharmaceutical and medtech clients.
The Swindon facility has been a cornerstone of BD’s operations for over twenty years, primarily producing advanced drug-delivery systems. As BD shifts focus to streamline its operations, Quvara Medical’s establishment under CEO Neil Sibley and Managing Director Paul Bragg represents a fresh yet reliable option for contract manufacturing. Quvara is founded on principles of quality, validation, and regulatory compliance, promising agility and innovation while leveraging decades of manufacturing excellence. This move aligns with Buckland Group’s strategy to create specialized, leading businesses, with medical manufacturing marking its first venture in this initiative.
Quvara Medical positions itself as a responsive, EU-based CMO with capabilities in both clinical and commercial-scale manufacturing. Its commitment to compliance, sustainable practices, and regulatory expertise makes it a valuable partner in a competitive market. Quvara is set to play a pivotal role in supporting pharmaceutical and medtech companies, poised for growth in an increasingly consolidated industry landscape.
