Cambridge Laboratories makes double promotion

26th June 2008

Cambridge Laboratories has promoted two of its management staff in a move designed to strengthen the development capacity of its pharmaceuticals operation.

Dr Andrew Duffield has become head of product development, while Dr Philip Nichols has been named as head of clinical development within the business.

Both men have considerable experience in developing products through clinical trials and in the business aspects of bringing new drugs to market, Cambridge Laboratories has explained.

It is hoped that the two promotions will enable the company to continue its progress as a supplier of specialist healthcare products to markets across Europe.

Chief executive Mark Evans said the double appointment “underlines Cambridge’s ongoing commitment to develop a robust pipeline of new chemical entities with a continued focus on diseases of the central nervous system, an area of severe unmet medical need”.

Mr Evans has been the company’s chief executive since 1996 when he joined the business after working at the Beecham Group and the Allergran and Medeva pharmaceutical firms.
