Capita Group wins NHS Choices contract

Capita Group has been awarded the contract for the digital information service, aimed to deliver authoritative and relevant content on policy, it was announced today.

NHS Choices, which the Department of Health says is a key part of its communications strategy, will be driven forward by Capita Group for the next three years.

The NHS states its Choices website to be a “front door” for stakeholders and citizens to access information on social care policy, publications, statistics and guidance – and the investment announced today will further secure the delivery of this.

“Our partnership with Capita will ensure that the development of the NHS Choices digital service will continue to fulfil the NHS Choices vision,” states Gary Ashby, Department of Health programme director of NHS Choices.

He adds the system will be “at the heart” of the relationship between communities and the NHS, and empower the public to make more informed decisions regarding their healthcare.

In its role as an outsourcing company, Capita Group was awarded another contract earlier this month.

Abbey Life Insurance Company and Deutsche Bank selected it to provide approximately 1.1 million life and pensions policy administrative services.
