Cardinal Health announces key appointments
Cardinal Health has announced the appointment of Stuart G Laws as vice-president and chief accounting officer and Jim Hinrichs as executive vice president and controller of the company.
Mr Hinrichs will be responsible for the accounting, external reporting and financial planning of Cardinal Health, reporting directly to chief financial officer Jeffrey W Henderson. Reporting to Mr Hinrichs, Mr Laws will be the principal accounting officer at the company.
Both appointments have been made to fill the position left by Eric Slusser, who has left Cardinal Health to take up a position as chief financial officer at another firm, with the selections to take effect on June 29th 2007.
Mr Henderson said: “Eric has been instrumental during his time at Cardinal Health in improving the overall quality of the finance organisation.
“I wish him all the best in his new position.”
He added his delight at the promotion of Mr Hinrich and Mr Laws from within the company to these roles, with these appointments acting as a testament to the development of talent and succession planning efforts within the firm.
Earlier this month, Cardinal Health announced the acquisition of Viasys Healthcare – a medical technology firm – for $1.5 billion (0.76 billion pounds).
