Cardinal Health enters scrubs market

20th March 2009

Cardinal Health has entered surgical scrubs market.

To improve the safety and efficiency within operating rooms (OR), the company has launched nine new products.

The Endura performance line of high-performance, custom-fit surgical apparel is one of the items.

Inspired by high-tech athletic wear and made of synthetic material, the protective clothing is breathable and flexible to keep medical professionals comfortable and dry.

The firm has also launched a fluid collection and disposal system called Orwell. Due to its closed design, clinicians and patients alike should be protected from inadvertent biohazard exposure and splashes.

Mike Lynch, chief executive officer for Cardinal Health’s medical division, explained both the products are innovations that meet the needs of today’s surgeries.

“Improving clinician comfort and safety, increasing procedure efficiency and protecting patients are the hallmarks of Cardinal Health’s offerings to the OR,” he remarked.

The company’s chief operating officer of the medical products segment Dwight Winstead added that creating products for use in surgeries will continue to be an important focus for the business.

Cardinal Health currently employs over 40,000 people on five continents.
