Cardinal Health secures supplying contract with Novation

Cardinal Health announced that it has been chosen by group-purchasing organisation Novation to supply the firm with sole-source laboratory products over a five-year period.

The agreement, which will run until 2014, will see Cardinal Health become Novation’s exclusive source for laboratory equipment for its clinical acute members.

These include those operating in hospital laboratories, core labs, blood banks and reference laboratories.

Lisa Ashby, senior vice-president and general manager for Cardinal Health’s laboratory business, stated: “Over the last several years, Cardinal Health has built a solid partnership with Novation’s members through our previous sole-source lab agreement and we look forward to strengthening this relationship.”

Last month, Cardinal Health revealed the early results of its debt tender offer relating to the purchase of up to $1.2 billion (721 million pounds) of its long-term debt insecurities.
