CareFusion announces chief operating officer departure

8th April 2011

CareFusion has announced the imminent departure of its chief operating officer Dwight Winstead.

The timing of the exit on June 30th 2011 has been mutually agreed as appropriate by Mr Winstead and CareFusion's management and will allow him to pursue new opportunities.

Mr Winstead has served in the chief operating officer role since the company broke off from Cardinal Health in September 2009, while prior to this he has enjoyed a career spanning 40 years in the healthcare sector.

He expressed confidence that the company is in a "great position" moving forward, thanks to the expertise of its current management team.

Chairman and chief executive officer Kieran Gallahue said of Mr Winstead: "He has been a foundational leader at CareFusion and he leaves a legacy of strong operators and industry-leading businesses."

This comes after the firm announced last month that Dr Carlos Nunez has been appointed to the role of chief medical officer.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800492982-ADNFCR
